Join us on the farm for a fall afternoon Workshop on Mushroom Cultivation!
Saturday, Oct 26th from 1 - 4 pm
We will start off the workshop with a 30 minute informative lecture on general mushroom knowledge and an overview of the agenda for the day. We will meet at the packshed (large dark grey building on your left as you pull down the Wild Hope Farm Road). Jasmine Winkler, certified wild mushroom forager and permaculture designer, will give the presentation and lead the workshop.
Following the presentation, we will take a short walk to the stream and open wooded areas where you will experience a guided mushroom forage, learning how to scout for mushrooms in the wild. We will end the workshop with a teaching demonstration on mushroom log inoculation where you will learn all the steps on inoculating your own logs which you will get to take home with you at the end of the workshop. You will have an option to inoculate with either the blue oyster mushroom or the shiitake mushroom spawn to enjoy at home!
Ticket price includes log for you to take home - this is a per-person price.
Please wear closed toed shoes! This workshop is appropriate for kids over 12.
